Have you ever had to run for cover?
When was the last time you heard that painful buzzing noise and received a tornado watch notification? (Or is it a tornado warning? I can never remember which is worse.)
I vividly remember taking shelter in one of the few buildings on a campground as a sudden storm whipped up. The tents and RVs were not going to provide safe haven for what the storm could throw at us.
Campers from all across the grounds abandoned their campsites for the lone shelter strong enough to stand the storm. We huddled together until things passed.
At some point the storms of life will send skittering away from your campsite in search stable shelter.
An old writer said that God’s attributes are the Christian’s safe haven of rest.
The Psalms regularly call God a refuge, shelter, or fortress.
When the future is unknown to you, it is known by the All-knowing God.
When the threats are massive, the Almighty is greater.
When the pains are deep, His compassion never fails.
Run for cover, Christian!
