Has your neighbor ever been to Greece?
I have a message your neighbor needs from Greece.
In Acts 17, Paul stands up in Athens to proclaim Christ. As Paul tells of the resurrection of Jesus, he tells us important things about the nations of the world, that have powerful implications for your neighbor.
Paul tells people that:
God created them all, “From one man [God] made all the nations.”
God positioned them all, “[God] marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.”
God did this all “so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him.”
God is not far from them all, “He is not far from any one of us.”
God’s patient unfolding of history in this way now comes to a crucial decision point: “[God] commands all people every where to repent.”
This decision should not be delayed or ignored because accountability has been scheduled: “For [God] set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.”
Who is this judge? Jesus Christ! Paul describes the proof: “He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
5 things we need to embrace about our nation and apply to our neighbor (and neighborhood).
Your nation was created by God, and so was your neighbor.
Your nation was positioned by God, and so is your neighbor.
God arranged history so that people might reach out to him, including your neighbor.
The time for a response to Christ is now for everyone, including your neighbor.
The time of accountability to Christ is coming for everyone, including you neighbor.
God put you somewhere on purpose–His purpose to announce Christ and bring people to repentance while there is time.
Do you see your neighbors with God’s purpose?
You need to hear the message from Greece about your neighbor, so that your neighbor will hear the message of Christ from you!
